Pilot Project: Exploring cancer literacy and cancer screening among older Korean Americans
His pilot project aims to investigate older Korean Americans’ (KA) cancer literacy including beliefs and attitudes toward cancer screening; assess barriers to colorectal cancer(CRC) screening; and explore older KAs’ preferred intervention strategies in enhancing their level of cancer screening literacy and behaviors. The project will employ a mixed methods CBPR approach through an existing community-university partnership to recruit 400 older KAs residing in the Atlanta metropolitan area.


Dr. Jin is an Assistant Professor in the Whitney Young Jr. School of Social Work at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA. His research interests include cancer screening promotion among minorities, internet addiction, aging and and gerontology, and health disparities.
